Christmassy December Classes
My Newbie Crochet classes have now finished - so they can now officially call themselves ‘Crocheters’ – no more beginner titles for them.

They’ve done so brilliantly and I’m immensely proud of each and every one of them.
Here’s their take on the classes:
‘Knitting Nettie thinks you (me – I think) are marvellous and so patient. After trying for years to crochet and failing … Margo you did it. I can now crochet without everything looking like bowls. Thank you so much. And your classes were a pleasure. Looking forward to learning with you again in the new year and the cakes’

‘Have thoroughly enjoyed learning the skill of Crochet with the lovely patient Margo (ADD – my husband and children nearly choked at this bit – but thank you Carys!) I could not even do a slip knot before starting this class, I did not think I would get further than a bookmark and 10 weeks have made a hook pouch and a 4 panel cushion!!! The camaraderie in the small group was fab abd we certainly had fun with Margo. Her homemade cakes and tea certainly enhanced the experience. Looking forward to learning new stitches with Margo in the New Year!’

‘I can second what Nettie said. You are very patient and your little YouTube videos are so helpful and easy to follow.’
‘So pleased that I have made my cushion – a lovely achievement. Margo you have been so helpful and supportive with the crochet instructions to a beginner. The classes are great fun with a lovely treat of tea and home made cakes’

‘When I asked you a few months ago if I could do your classes, I said to you …. You have a massive challenge, I honestly didn’t think I would grasp it! 10 weeks later …. You have got me to do a cushion cover .. I’m making blankets! From the first class, the way you showed us, the patience, the videos so we could look back if we were stuck … also the fun and relaxation of teaching us. I can be quite anxious about starting new things, not once did I feel this, amazing group of ladies, who I’ve really enjoyed spending time with on my crochet journey and getting to know and sharing stories! I’m gutted it’s finishing next Wednesday. Thank you Margo & ladies, it’s been the best 10 weeks, and it’s been lovely having my time learning to do something I totally am addicted to now. PS Tea and Cakes have been amazing’

As for the ‘big’ girls – we’ve made Poncho’s, Pumpkins, Mini Mandalas and Christmas Baubles – and here’s their take on those classes:
‘One thing you said which really stuck with me was ‘trust the process’. People often say they just couldn’t do it and you emphasised that the first bit was the most difficult part but once you got the knack it is easier’

‘I think it’s about perseverance – and patience – and planning by you! (again - me I think)’
‘It is so rewarding to complete a project that I would probably never attempt, all due to your clear guidance and patience. This applies to all your classes I’ve attended!’
I’d like to point out that I have not paid them to say the above! You are all so incredibly kind and I too have absolutely loved getting to know you all and teach you.

So, my focus now turns to the next lot of beginners classes which start at the end of January.
It’s a run of 10 classes – either on a Tuesday afternoon or a Wednesday morning – with half term in between. I have quite a few names already – but there’s still a few places left. There’ll be no more than 6 per class – so nice and small and friendly.

We also have vouchers available if you know of someone who would like a gift for my classes or for any of my items – or show someone a link for them if you want to hint at what you would like for Christmas – either way they make the perfect gift.
Happy Festive hooking to all the lovely, gorgeous, fun ladies I’ve had the utter pleasure of teaching in one form or other this year!
